The Fifth Vana’diel Census
This is a couple of weeks late, but as they did last year, Final Fantasy XI released a census of its online population. Unfortunately, the data provided doesn’t directly offer any new subscriber figure, but it does confirm “over 500,000 registered users” owning 1,550,000 characters. Last year they reported 500,000 subscribers with 1,200,000 characters. If the ratio has remained the same, that could mean as many as 650,000 subscribers for FFXI.
