Slashdot: MMOG Subscription Chart Updated

This time I’ve Slashdotted myself! So far the new site has had no problems keeping up with the demand.

Version 12.0 Available

Version 12.0 is now up!  This is a major revision.  I’ve added several new charts, which give a better perspective on what the overall market looks like, and integrated the report into the look and feel of the new web site.  The biggest additions are, of course, EverQuest II and World of Warcraft.

Version 10.0 Available

Version 10.0 is now up.  I’ve obtained several new data points, plus I’ve added Majestic, Second Life, and Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates.

Version 9.0 Available

Version 9.0 is now up.  This is a major revision.  I’ve separated the chart into three tiers to eliminate the problem with crowding at the lower end.  This also enabled me to add Lineage and Lineage II numbers without distorting everything else.  I’ve also added RuneScape and City of Heroes.

Terra Nova: News About Numbers

The good folks over at Terra Nova have a new article up talking about MMOG subscription numbers, including a link to my chart.

The Fourth Vana’diel Census

Final Fantasy XI has released an interesting census of its online population.  Also included is an intriguing chart of their growth over time, but it does not quite match the data they’ve released before, so I think it is meant to be somewhat abstract.
